Great North News website goes live
Tuesday, February 23, 2010
Great North News brings together leading experts in TV, newspapers, local radio and websites, to offer a ground-breaking news service for the people of the North East, Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. A key communication platform for this alliance - www.greatnorthnews.co.uk  has just been launched.

The coalition is the best in independent journalism and academia across the region, bidding to run the news pilot to replace the existing ITV Border and Tyne Tees service. The initiative comprises ITN (also designed and built by us), more than 40 local newspapers such as The Northern Echo and Sunderland Echo, radio stations Metro, TFM and CFM and the University of Sunderland, alongside the staff who produce the current ITV service.

A cool video and image wall and a promotional video is featured on the home page. The slick website gives viewers a flavour of the multimedia service the alliance envisions, as well as detailed information on each of the alliance partners.

The design and build of the new website has been handled by D'zine and is aimed at transforming local news, to bring the North into focus like never before.
