An Indian recipe for advertising concocted by Priti Nair, Curry Nation is a brand new ad agency in Mumbai, backed by a small but very experienced team. When they launched, Priti turned to long time acquaintances, DZINE to put them on the online space with a website that brought out the flavor of Curry Nation.
After 20 years of being in the industry and the experience of working on brands like Coca-Cola, Limca, Ariel, Complan, Axe and Surf Excel, Priti Nair decided to set out on her own advertising adventure. One which required DZINE's expertise in the online medium. DZINE's relationship with Priti goes back a long time, and this resulted in a crystal clear understanding of her requirement - a website that brought out the very essence of her brand new baby.
As someone who loves everything Indian, Priti decided to call her agency Curry-Nation Brand Communications, as a celebration of Indian culture. The Indian love for spicy food is well-known and Priti's agency intended to add the same flavor to their advertising. Curry-Nation believes their USP to be an understanding of Indian insights and delivering advertisements that touch the heart of every Indian, through a variety of emotions. Priti had even gone to the extent of decorating her new office with old and rare Indian ads to create the perfect ambience.
Back at DZINE, we knew we had to communicate Curry-Nation's brand image and bring out the same experience online. We would need to make the right impression with the audience, leaving them with this unique and unforgettable flavor. So we served Curry-Nation with a website that was both local yet contemporary, clichéd yet quirky. Vibrant colours, Indian styled fonts and icons as well as humorous local references filled the website. Contrary to our usual practice of perfection, we intentionally gave the website a raw and incomplete feel. Needless to say, once Priti had a taste, she was soon hungry for more.
So we added the pièce de résistance - a hilarious introductory video that conveyed the Indian character of Curry-Nation through sights and sounds unique to the nation. Viewers would be treated to funny visuals from around the country, local slang and jargon and an authentically Indian audio track. Once we were done, this tongue-in-cheek website had all the right ingredients to cater a spicy online feast for the senses. A feast that left Priti and her team completely satisfied.
